Buriti (Mauritia flexuosa) is a native palm tree from Brazil, especially found in the Cerrado (Brazilian savannah) and wet tropical forests of the Amazon. Its pulp is highly appreciated in the preparation of typical desserts and after fermentation, it also produces Buriti wine.
The Buriti oil, extracted from the fruit pulp, is rich in oleic fatty acids and has a high concentration of carotenoids, especially Vitamin A, which makes it ideal for self-tanning, deep hydration of sensitive skin, after-sun care, and also improves skin's elasticity and firmness.
