How to choose for kids and baby
Start with age
Most items here are made for kids, with a smaller range for babies. Check the age rating on each product page, as toys with small parts and ride-ons have minimum ages. Building toys, jigsaw puzzles and pretend play sets are easy picks across a wide age range.
Outdoor play
Outdoor play equipment and trampolines make up a big part of the range. Before buying, measure the yard and leave clear space around the item. Check sizes carefully. Trampolines and sandpits are listed by diameter or footprint, from around 1.1 m square sandpits to trampolines several metres across. Look for UV resistant materials if it will sit in the sun. See trampolines and sandpits for the full ranges.
Ride-on cars and toys
Electric ride-on cars are a popular pick. Compare battery and charging time, the maximum rider weight, and whether there is a parent remote control for younger kids. Browse ride-on toys for scooters, bikes and cars.
Kids furniture
Kids tables and chairs, recliners and bedroom pieces come in timber, engineered wood, plastic and PU leather. Check seat height and table size against your child's age, and look for storage features to keep toys tidy.
Budget
Prices start from about $20 for small toys and puzzles, with most around $70. Large items like play sets, ride-ons and trampolines cost more. Keezi, Kahuna, Lifespan and Rigo are the main brands.
