How to choose a bed for your bedroom set
What you will find here
This collection is mostly bed frames, plus the odd bedroom set. Read the what is included section on each listing so you know exactly which pieces arrive. Mattresses and bedding are bought separately unless the listing clearly says otherwise.
Bed size
Frames in the range come in double and king single. A double mattress is about 137 x 188 cm, and a king single about 107 x 203 cm. King single is longer than a standard single, so it gives kids and teenagers room to grow.
Storage
Some frames have drawers or built-in storage underneath, which is handy in small bedrooms and kids' rooms where floor space is tight. Check drawer depth and clearance at the sides so drawers can open fully once the bed is in place.
Adjustable bases and room layout
A few frames are electric adjustable bases with a remote control that raises the head and feet. They are good for reading or watching TV in bed. Check the adjustment range, weight capacity and the type of mattress the base suits.
Measure the wall the bed will sit against and allow about 60 cm on each side for walking and bedside tables. Mark the footprint with tape before ordering, and measure doorways and stairs too.
Price
Frames start from about $215, with most around $350 to $450. Adjustable bases cost more. To build out the room, add a headboard, a gas lift bed for more storage, or a matching wardrobe.
